rhG-CSF (SunGran)
　The Recombinant Human Granulocyte Stimulating Factor is a genetically engineered protein drug. It is a synthetic (man-made) version of a substance naturally produced by the body that stimulates the production and growth of certain white blood cells. White blood cells protect the body by fighting bacteria that may cause infection. Most of the time chemotherapy has myelotoxicity and can lower the number of white blood cells. rhG-CSF helps to encourage the release and maturation of CFU-G into the blood from the bone marrow that is why it is recommended during chemo-therapy treatment. The rhG-CSF was launched in 2001. It has already taken 30% of the market share in Shanghai. The company would like to sell more of it all over the country.

　Formulated SunGran is an aqueous solution colorless, clear and sterile. Each vial of SunGran contains 75, 150, or 300μg of rhG-CSF. The SunGran injection also contains 10mM acetic acid- sodium-acetate buffer, 5% mannitol and 0.004%Tween-80, and it is at pH 4.00.

　SunGran should be administrated 24 to 48 hours after chemotherapy ends. Sungran is given as a single daily injection by SC bolus injection or by a short IV infusion. The dosage of SunGran given to a patient is according to the strength and the decreasing degree of the neutral-cell. For those suffering an intense chemical treatment or suffering an obvious decrease of granular leucocytes, 2.5μg/kg weight/day dosage continuing for 7days or more until the recovery of the neutral granular leucocytes to 5000/mm³ is commonly suitable; for those with a lower dosage of the chemical medicine and estimated with unserious marrow inhibition, 1.25μg/kg weight/day dosage for preventing from the decrease of the neutral granular leucocytes until the quantity of the neutral granular leucocytes considered stable within a safety range is commonly suitable; and for those having an obvious decrease of the neutral granular leucocytes after the chemical treatment (the quantity of the neutral granular leucocytes<1000/ mm³), 5μg/kg weight/day dosage until the recovery of the neutral granular leucocytes to 5000/ mm³ is commonly suitable. When the quantity of the neutral granular leucocytes become stable, please stop the administration of SunGran and watch the state of the illness.
